LEARN ABOUT OUR OFFERINGS AT LOCAL COMMUNITY CENTERS
The Backstage Foundation Community Center Dance Class Program collaborates with many local community centers to provide free professional dance instruction in various styles to those that do not have access to dance instruction due to financial hardships or limitations.

The program centers on increasing the level of activity and participation within community centers by providing a safe and non-competitive environment in dance styles that are popular for teens and our younger youth.
Our goal is to provide an outlet focused on creativity, positive energy, safe community, emotional expression, and confidence building to our youth, and to provide professional instructors the opportunity to grow in their experience of instruction, choreography, core value training, and community connections.

The Backstage Foundation came to the Tulalip Boys & Girls Club and put on free dance classes every Thursday in May of 2024. I Kortney the Program Director got to see the kids come out of their shells and see how confident they all were when they were dancing...
...I was able to work with Kari and we were able to offer dance classes in the summer for our Summer Camp as well as a few classes during Teen Night. The Dance classes gave all the youth a new and different way to express themselves. This was a awesome program they are offering. The Tulalip Boys & Girls Club would love to have more dance classes offered here!
INCLUSIVE COORDINATOR
The adaptive dance class with The Backstage Foundation has made an impact within the Inclusive Recreation Department at the City of Federal Way Parks and Recreation. Working with individuals with various disabilities and needs, the company has created a fun and welcoming environment for all of the participants they serve.
Through personalized instruction and accessible choreography, students are able to express themselves, build confidence, and develop stage presence in a way that is both empowering and inclusive. The class fosters not only dance skills but also a sense of belonging, as participants connect with each other in a supportive environment.

We really think that the Backstage Foundation has such a beautiful mission and appreciate it so much. My child wanted to come to a class, as herself, with others in her community and have fun with instructors that are very skilled yet don't put huge amounts of pressure on kids. They pushed them to be their best and to have fun, and they did just that! I believe that is how a love for dance and artistic expression begins. Thank you!
